Size Matters

Journals, notebooks, and paper come in varying sizes that I am certain you have noticed. While we don’t carry every size of notebook and journal imaginable in our store, we do try to offer a variety of sizes so that anyone, regardless of their background, has something to record their important words, thoughts, and stories.

Here is what we offer at The Raven and The Writing Desk from largest to smallest…
✒️Letter Size; commonly seen abbreviated as ‘LS’, measures roughly 8.5”x11”. Perfect for larger creations, photo albums, and scrap booking. Not great for quick thoughts or carrying around every day in a bag, but who am I to restrict you?
✒️B5; a common “large notebook” compared to its A5 competitor. This journal measures at 6.9”x9.8” and makes for great every day adventure writing, illustrated stories, and scrap booking.
✒️A5; most common in notebook and journal sizes due to its convenient measurement of 5.75”x8.25”. It’s not too big, not too small, and perfect for a moderate size purse (my personal go to)
✒️Travelers; also seen in the abbreviation of ‘TN’ for “Traveler’s Notebook”. The name says it all— the right size for traveling, adventures, and experience capturing. Finding new things is easy to capture in this 4.3”x8.25” journal.
✒️Pocket; ‘PS’ for short. Fits in your pocket. Shirt pockets, purse pockets, pant pockets, dress pockets, you name it! Pockets must be roughly 3.5”x5.5” in size of course.
✒️Memo pad; no funny names, just what it is. A small 3”x5” notebook to jot down those random thoughts, good ideas, and friendly reminders.

All of these thoughts are opinions, not factual aside from the measurements and names of sizes. While I have my preferences and only offer a select number of sizes, I do recommend finding the best fit for you! Reach out if you’re unsure.
